Personal Soccer Players

In the Netherlands we call it “businesslike”. Although still I think that soccer-players should be more personal on the field. Let’s take a look at Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke ’04) He makes his goals in all possible positions! While sitting, standing, sliding, heading and much more! And if he scores? With two fists running to the corner flag and showing his theeth. You might know Bokito, the gorilla that escaped out his cave in blijdorp. The teeth Bokito has are the same as that of Huntelaar, a soccer-player who is constant, always in the middle of the spotlight and always and then I really mean always everywhere. That is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar!

Now let’s take a look to another famous Dutch soccer-player, Arjan Robben ( Bayern München). First a rush to the backline with a defender that is running the crap out of himself, then, turn around and turn back to the edge of the penalty-area and that BAM right between the posts.

Maybe that’s why the Netherlands are that good in soccer, we are much too sober when it comes to soccer. Take for instance the match between Ajax and Real Madrid in the poll-fase off the Champions League. Real Madrid was faraway the best team, but that doesn’t forbid us to laugh because of Siem de Jong (an attacking midfielder, a talent). I was watching the perfect body’s off the players off Real Madrid, muscular, gel in the hair and so on.
While looking to this with astonishment I saw the head of Siem de Jong of Ajax between als of this, a red head, his hair without any structure, a typical stereotype  Dutch head. That is just a beautiful picture.

That is what makes soccer worth watching: players with a personality.
